Map products

The map products of the Land and Spatial Development Board provide a detailed and accurate overview of Estonia's landscape, topography, and administrative division. These maps are suitable for use by both ordinary people and specialists working with spatial data to support their professional work.

Estonian base map 1:10,000 digital

This is a large-scale topographic map produced once a year for the entire territory of Estonia based on data from the Estonian Topographic Database (ETAK).

The map includes information on land use (e.g., fields, forests), communications (roads, power lines), settlements (buildings, yards), water bodies, relief, and toponyms.

The map has several outputs: a color raster map (with and without relief shading), a black-and-white raster map, and a vector map.

Estonian base map 1:20000 printed map

This is also a topographic map produced on the basis of the Estonian Topographic Database (ETAK), with various map sheets published between 1994 and 2024.

Compared to the digital Estonian base map, the printed map additionally shows the points of the national geodetic network, boundary markers, county and administrative unit boundaries, protected area boundaries, registered monuments and heritage conservation areas, and firefighting water supply points.

The map product is available in the historical maps application and as a paper map for sale in the archives of the Land and Spatial Development Board.

Hybrid or orthophoto map

A web map consisting of the latest orthophotos and map objects superimposed on them – roads, buildings, administrative unit boundaries, flowing and standing water bodies, place names.

The roads, buildings, and water bodies on the hybrid map are sourced from the Estonian Topographic Database (ETAK) and are updated daily, while administrative unit boundaries are updated monthly and place names are usually updated in December and January.

The map is visible in map applications and can also be used as a separate map service.

Base map of the Land and Spatial Development Board

A popular web map used as a base map in many different map environments.

The main data on the map comes from the Estonian Topographic Database (ETAK), administrative and settlement boundaries from the land register, and place names are linked to the place name register.

The map has several visual outputs, such as a map in grayscale or with relief shading.

The product is visible in map applications and can also be used as a separate map service.

The map reflects data from the beginning of the year.

The map shows the state border and temporary control line, county and local government boundaries, settlement boundaries, names of local governments and settlements, locations of city and rural municipality governments, and border crossing points.

Geographical basis: water network, road and railway network, airports and ports, national park boundaries and names, geographical names.

The map is available in print-quality PDF format.
