State land is state property, and transactions and activities involving it must be based primarily on the State Property Act, but also on all other legislation regulating land and real estate transactions.
The activities involved in managing state land are:
- analysis of the status and best use of immovable property belonging to the land reserve;
- establishing servitudes on state land and organizing temporary use;
- Sale and transfer of state land at auction;
- organizing the use of state land for the development of renewable energy;
- management of land-related contracts and claims;
- Ensuring the maintenance and lawful use of state land
- Participation in land management with state land
In managing the state land reserve, the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture and the Land and Planning Agency follow the principles of preserving state land as a reserve and directing it into civil use, as approved by the Government of the Republic at its cabinet meeting on January 26, 2017.
State land data, procedures, and agreements are managed and published in the state real estate register and state property spatial data environment KATRI.
Cadastral State Property Spatial Data Environment (KATRI)
KATRI is helpful to anyone who needs information about state land. KATRI shows directly on the map:
- whether the property is state property, which authority is its administrator and authorized agency;
- whether and what active proceedings or actions are taking place in relation to state land;
- what agreements have been concluded for state land, with whom, for what period, and for what fee;
- what state land is maintained by the Land and Spacial Development Board;
- what heritage sites located on state land can be leased, and if desired, an application can be submitted immediately.
KATRI publishes information on state-owned immovable property, related proceedings, and contracts entered in the state real estate register. Information related to state-owned land can be found on the KATRI map by clicking on a specific plot of land.
